Oregon Trip Permit
Interstate vehicles 26,000 pounds and lower are not required to register under the International Registration Plan ( IRP) and obtain apportioned plates; however, such vehicles may be apportioned if the registrant chooses. When not apportioned under the IRP, these vehicles usually receive reciprocity for interstate travel, but intrastate travel is subject to the registration laws in each state where travel occurs. A trip permit or other form of registration may be required before intrastate operations may be conducted.
